Hillwood Art Museum, Brookville

The Hillwood Art Museum is the caretaker of Long Island University's Permanent Art Collection. The University began acquiring work in earnest in the early 1970's and over the last two decades more than 650 new works have entered the collection through gifts and donations

Old Westbury Gardens

 Old Westbury Gardens, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the former home of John S. Phipps, his wife, Margarita Grace Phipps and their four children. Built in 1906 by the English designer George A. Crawley, the magnificent Charles II-style mansion is nestled amid 160 acres of formal gardens, landscaped grounds, woodlands, ponds and lakes. Westbury House is furnished with fine English antiques and decorative arts from the more than fifty years of the family's residence.

Garvies Point Museum and Preserve

Garvies Point Museum and Preserve is a natural history museum and nature preserve located on Long Island's north shore in the city of Glen Cove. Exhibits and collections are devoted to regional geology, Native American archaeology and ethnology. The museum is a center for research on Long Island Native American archaeology as well as a leading resource for students dealing with Long Island and New York State geology and archaeology, Long Island Native American culture and outdoor education.

Grumman Memorial Park

 

Grumman Memorial Park is located on Route 25 near the Route 25A intersection and is situated on a one-acre site (with an additional nine acres of land for expansion) on the former Grumman Aerospace Flight Test Facility (Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant) in Calverton, Long Island, New York. The Park is due east of the 10,000-foot runway
